This site is like an addendum to the Gurriers site, and the short story site, Water Vampire. It is by way of creating a culture for the near-reality, or heightened-reality environments I’ve invented. The poetry appearing here is in a way fictitious, in that it is not primarily meant to reflect what I think or feel or have experienced, but is, as it were, on behalf of someone else. Some of it may coincidentally reflect my experience but that is merely coincidence.

Some of the poems were written as songs; I am not at all musical so often I will have had a particular thing I wished to depict or express, and the song has come out while I was listenting to someone else’s music. A couple of the songs are referred to in Gurriers.

Incidentally, the blog-title is from a fragment of a poem by Sappho (Now I know that neither honey nor the honey-bee will be mine); I think it is such a succinct acceptance of loss and also, several of the poems were intended to be variations on other Sappho poems.
